The league vision

The S*H*U 747 program is being shaped as a PONY Baseball league for young people ages 5 through 17. The goal is bigger than winning games: create a continuous path from a child's first season to serious regional competition.
Players advance through age-appropriate teaching, positive coaching, and standards rooted in teamwork, responsibility, and respect.

02Ages 9–12
Development
Stronger skills, deeper baseball understanding, and healthy competition guided by coaches who teach the person as seriously as the player.
03Ages 13–14
Preparation
A disciplined bridge into advanced play, leadership, physical preparation, and the standards required to represent Richmond well.
04Ages 15–17
Bay Area Travel
The strongest players earn the opportunity to compete across the Bay Area, gain exposure, and carry the S*H*U 747 standard beyond the home field.

The 15–17 program gathers outstanding players from Richmond and around the Bay Area for higher-level competition. Selection represents ability, work ethic, character, coachability, and commitment to the team.
The All-Star honor
A uniform that
must be earned.
Players selected as PONY League All-Stars will receive the opportunity to wear an exclusive historical uniform honoring Richmond Shipyard's Black American labor and baseball legacy. The program carries the union code A-36 as its identifying mark.
The A-36 heritage uniform system is an approved part of the All-Star program and is reserved for selected players who earn the honor of representing its legacy.
